Surrey Park continued its difficult start to the season with a 95 point loss to The Basin on Saturday.
In the clash of two sides that had not won a game in 2008 it was The Basin who opened there account 24.15 (159) to Surrey Park 9.12 (66).
Bryan Vance once again booted four goals in a superb individual performance in a beaten side
Ruckman Phil Carruthers & Midfielder James Wright continually worked hard all day, however the Panthers engine room struggled to get the ball the entire match.
At half time the Panthers trailed by 58 points but Surrey did not drop off, and while being outscored five goals to 1 in the third term, they totally dominated the first 20 minutes of the third term and furthermore began to run hard against the odds. But it was shortlived as five goals from The Basin put all the hardwork to waste and eventually running the game out by 95 points.
For coach Adam Rossoukas, he said they rued opportunities in the third term kicking 1 goal 5 behinds before The Basin even scored. "We just didn't take our chances today, but one thing is for certain we are getting better as a team and it's not all bad as it seems!"
