Panthers Sink To Third Defeat |
Surrey Park's win-less start to the 2008 season continued at Surrey Park on Saturday afternoon, with The Glen Waverley Hawks producing a 97 point victory.
The Panthers 10.11 (71) went down to Glen Waverley Hawks 24.24 (168), which means Surrey Park has now lost its opening three rounds by a combined total of 376 points.
No one could question Surrey Park's endeavour right from the start, but unfortunately, an inability to hit targets throughout the match was an all too familiar sight and this ultimately proved its downfall.
Despite Surrey Park's determination in the first half, six unanswered goals from the 20th - minute mark of the third term proved to be crucial.
Captain Ash Grace was outstanding down back as was James Wright who again was among his side's best displaying great effort across four quarters.
Brian Vance in front of goal finished with three majors.
Adding to the frustration for coach Adam Rossoukas key midfielder Daniel Watts & forward Justin Rossoukas succumb to injury leaving one man on the bench for the second half.
