Phil Carruthers this week will play his 150th game for Surrey Park agains The Glen Waverley Hawks.
Carruthers who started as a junior at Surrey becomes the 12th player in its short history to play 150 games.
The Best & Fairest from 2007 has once again been a shining light in what has been a tough year for the panthers.

Surrey Park took on Chrinside Park at Surrey on Saturday keen to redeem from there 142 point humiliation in Round 1 only to cop the same again.
Surrey could only manage 4.2 (26) to Chirnside Park 23.21 (159) to go down by 133 points.
It meant that on both occassions this year Surrey could only manage to kick 4 goals in both games.

Surrey Park opened it's account for the 2008 season with an emphatic come from behind victory over Ferntree Gully on Saturday at Surrey Park.
Trailing all day the Panthers booted 3 goals 8 behinds in the final quarter to down Ferntree Gully by 14 points Surrey Park 13.13 (91) to 11.11 (77).
Not only was it Surrey's first win of the season, it was there first since Round 12 of the 2007 season.

Surrey Park continued its difficult start to the season with a 95 point loss to The Basin on Saturday.
In the clash of two sides that had not won a game in 2008 it was The Basin who opened there account 24.15 (159) to Surrey Park 9.12 (66).
Bryan Vance once again booted four goals in a superb individual performance in a beaten side

Surrey Park's win-less start to the 2008 season continued at Surrey Park on Saturday afternoon, with The Glen Waverley Hawks producing a 97 point victory.
The Panthers 10.11 (71) went down to Glen Waverley Hawks 24.24 (168), which means Surrey Park has now lost its opening three rounds by a combined total of 376 points.

Surrey Park's disappointing start to the 2008 season continued when the Panthers ran into Heathmont at Surrey Park on Saturday.
After trailing by 54 points at half time, Heathmont booted 16 goals in a dominant second half to completely run away with the game and win by 133 points.
Surrey had few winners on the day, although James Wright never stopped trying, while Brian Vance & Phil Carruthers were others to battle hard on the day.

The "FIGHTBACK 2008" campaign began on Saturday against Chirnside Park
at Chirnside Park Reserve. Unfortunately it was not the start the club was
looking for, being defeated by 142 points.

Chirnside Park: 25 22 172
The news wasn't much better for the reserves either going down by 144 points

The 2007 season officially came to a close with the club’s presentation night held at the magnificent GEEBUNG POLO CLUB in Hawthorn.
SURREY PARK ruckman Phil Carruthers became the thirteenth Panther to win the club best and fairest in its short history.
Carruthers was a popular winner of the “Horne” medal on the night ahead of team mates Steven Mason and Chris Starritt.
Carruthers continued his impressive season by also taking out the MVP player of the season which was voted by his team mates.
